Artist's Statement

Water, trees and the sun are my primary obsessions. When I thought about sharing my work, I wanted a name to express the reason these images even exist. Nature is my sanctuary. It teaches me no matter how small, everything has its perfect place, maybe even me. It connects me to the bigger picture and reminds me to just breathe.

Imagery of the natural elements lets us experience this sanctuary. It calls us to take a moment, reflect, renew. In our attunement, we can connect to our own true nature. Through color, shape, style and form, art can infuse or reflect the ambience we desire.

I'd love to hear from you at sanctuaryist@gmail.com about purchasing, licensing or representing Sanctuaryist images for residential, hospitality, healthcare or corporate interior design. Custom sizes and projects welcome. Wholesale price list upon request.

Let's create something beautiful together!

About Me

Having grown up in the majestic mountains of Virginia, nature is deep in my blood. A westward journey in 2000 to picturesque San Francisco led to my first camera purchase and nothing was ever the same.  A door opened to a place called home. I'd always been a wallflower, now I had a viewfinder, aka: A way to be in the world.

A move to Florida's stunning Gulf Coast developed my camera's soulmate relationship with water; its ever-changing, constant movement in light is spell-binding, endless lens inspiration. Joyful. Spiritual. Pensive. Awakening. Serene. Never two moments the same.

Now, I'm chasing light in an Old Florida landscape, where shadow and light dance along waterways, marshes and natural springs. Sometimes it sets the heart racing, sometimes it lingers to soothe the soul. Through my lens, it's nothing less than magical.
